About Tetrabutylammonium Bromide
Tetrabutylammonium bromide is a quaternary ammonium salt with a bromide. Tetrabutylammonium bromide can be prepared by the alkylation of tributylamine with 1-bromobutane.
Tetrabutylammonium Bromide is used as a phase transfer catalyst. It is used in synthesis of dithioacetals from acetals by transthioacetalisation in a solvent free environment.
