About Benzaldehyde
Benzaldehyde is the simplest aromatic aldehyde that is a colorless liquid with a characteristic almond-like odor. Benzaldehyde is naturally found in almonds, apples, peaches, cherry and apricot kernels, and other Prunus species.
The most common use of benzaldehyde is to provide almond flavouring to items. It is used in food and beverages to provide the scent of almonds. It is an aromatic aldehyde which is used in cosmetics as a denaturant, a flavoring agent, and as a fragrance.
