About Lactic acid
Lactic acid appears as a colorless to yellow odorless syrupy liquid. Lactic acid is an organic compound belonging to the family of carboxylic acids. Lactic acid is produced industrially by bacterial fermentation of carbohydrates, or by chemical synthesis from acetaldehyde.
Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that is used on the skin to remove dead skin cells and help fade dark spots and soften fine lines. It is used in food and pharmaceuticals industry.
