About Dimethylacetamide
Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) is a colorless, high boiling, polar, hygroscopic liquid. and it is miscible with water, ethers, esters, ketones and aromatics compounds. It is a member of acetamides and a monocarboxylic acid amide. Dimethylacetamide is a synthetic organic compound that is produced from a reaction of dimethylamine and acetic acid or acetic anhydride.
DMAC is a good solvent for a wide range of organic and inorganic compounds. Dimethylacetamide is used in the production of polyacrylonitrile and polyurethane based fibers, films and coatings. It is also employed in the production of pharmaceuticals and plasticizers as a reaction medium.
