About Diethylenetriamine
Diethylenetriamine (DETA) is an aliphatic ethylene amine with two primary and one secondary amine groups. It is a byproduct of the production of ethylenediamine from ethylene dichloride. The three nitrogen atoms make DETA an excellent complexing agent for metals such as cobalt, copper, and platinum.
Diethylenetriamine is used as a solvent for plastics and dyes and in chemical synthesis. It is used in wet-strength resins, chelating agents, lubricant oil additives, oil field chemicals and polyamides for resins or epoxy curing agents.
