About Dicyclohexylamine
Dicyclohexylamine is a secondary amine which appears as a colorless liquid with a faint fishlike odor. Dicyclohexylamine, as a mixture with cyclohexylamine, is prepared by the catalytic hydrogenation of aniline, with a catalyst of ruthenium and palladium.
Dicyclohexylamine is used in the rubber industry where the DCHA is used as a vulcanization accelerator. It is used as a catalyst for paint, varnishes and inks. It is used as a corrosion inhibitor in steam pipes and boilers. It is also used as a catalyst for flexible polyurethane foams, also used in dye manufacturing and paper dyes.
