About Cyclohexanol
Cyclohexanol is the organic compound with the formula HOCH(CH₂)₅. It is an alcohol that consists of cyclohexane bearing a single hydroxy substituent. Cyclohexanol is produced by the oxidation of cyclohexane in air, typically using cobalt catalysts.
It is used in the manufacture of nylon, lacquers, paints and varnishes and as a solvent in cleaning and degreasing operations. Cyclohexanol is used as a chemical intermediate, a stabilizer, and a homogenizer for various soap and detergent emulsions, and as a solvent for lacquers and varnishes.
