About Creosote Oil
Creosote is an oily liquid with a burning taste,obtained by distilling coal and woodtar. Creosote is a wood preservative consisting of a complex mixture of inorganic and organic constituents including PAHs, phenolics, and N-, S-, and O-heterocyclic aromatic compounds
It is a common wood preservative for railroad ties, telephone poles, marine pilings, and shingles. Creosote has also been used as an Insecticide, Fungicide, Biocide, and Disinfectant.
