About Amyl Alcohol
Amyl alcohol, also called Pentyl Alcohol, any of eight organic compounds having the same molecular formula, C5H11OH, but different structures. Amyl alcohol is used as a solvent and in esterification, by which is produced amyl acetate and other important products.
It is used as a solvent, in synthetic flavorings, and in making other chemicals. It is used in the production of plastics, varnishes, paints, and synthetic detergents.
